Michael Becker, contributing author to Mobile Internet for Dummies and co-author of Web Marketing All-in-One for Dummies will define mobile marketing. He’ll review how the practice of mobile marketing is used, both for direct and indirect marketing. He’ll discuss the leading mobile marketing strategies and tactical execution themes, and discuss case studies on successful mobile campaigns.

Bonus Workshop:
Intensive Mobile Marketing Bootcamp

In this bootcamp, we’ll show you how mobile marketing can be used to engage consumers and business alike. We’ll introduce you to the landscape and ecosystem of players that can help you practice mobile marketing. We’ll review numerous direct and indirect mobile marketing case studies and discuss in detail the unique capabilities of each mobile path (SMS, MMS, eMail, Voice/IVR, Internet, Mobile Internet, Bluetooth and Applications) that can be used to traverse through the mobile channel. In addition, mobile advertising and related awareness ‒ generating and consumer participation incentive tactics will be discussed, as will related mobile marketing practices like mobile enhanced cause marketing, mobile giving, and more.

At this bootcamp you will:
  • Have an understanding of the make up of the mobile channel and how to use it for direct and indirect marketing
  • Have an understanding of the many paths through the mobile channel to engage consumers and when to use them
  • Review of leading tactics and case studies of mobile marketing
  • Understanding of how to track and measure the ROI of mobile marketing and mobile enhanced marketing programs
MICHAEL BECKER, a leader in the mobile marketing industry, assumes the roles of entrepreneur, volunteer, author and academic. Mr. Becker is VP Mobile Strategies for iLoop Mobile, the industry's leading mobile marketing solutions provider and winner of the 2007 MMA Innovation of the Year Award. In addition, he is the Global and North American Vice Chairperson for the Mobile Marketing Association and member of the Direct Marketing Association Mobile Advisory Council. Mr. Becker is the founder and co-editor of the MMA International Journal of Mobile Marketing, contributing and co-author to Mobile Internet and Web Marketing All-in-One for Dummies, and he has written over 70 articles and conducted hundreds of seminars on mobile marketing. On the academic front, he is pursuing a doctorate focused on mobile enhanced customer managed interactions and is an adjunct professor of marketing at Golden Gate University. Mr. Becker has been recognized for his industry contributions, having received the MMA Individual Achievement Award in 2007 and the Direct Marketing Education Foundation 2009 Rising Stars Award.
